NFL Rumors – Green Bay Packers & Tennessee Titans Interested in Signing Mike McGlynn

Mike McGlynn

At this point of free agency, there aren’t that too many big names left to sign. However, some players might not be stars but still create plenty of buzz, as Mike McGlynn seems to be someone like that, drawing interest from both the Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans.

The offensive lineman who can play at both the center and guard positions has already met with the Packers earlier this week, and he’ll have a meeting with the Titans as a follow up to try and decide what his next team should be.

So what is going to be the better choice for him personally? He has a better chance of being a starter with the Packers. They lost center Evan Dietrich-Smith to the Bucs in free agency, but it remains to be seen what are the team’s plans regarding J.C. Tretter, their fourth round pick from the 2013 draft.

In Tennessee, it seems like they’re set at both the guard positions (Andy Levitre and Chance Warmack) and the center spot, with Brian Schwenke the probable starter. However, bringing in a quality and experienced backup to fill the lines, someone who can play in three different positions, is a luxury teams with plans to do well in a season usually like to have.

The 29-year old spent the last two seasons in Indianapolis with the Colts, mostly playing at right guard and starting a total of 30 games. He began his career with the Eagles after getting drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 draft out of Pitt, and also spent one season with the Bears.
