After a week of tennis at Flushing Meadows, we bring you the best moments of victory, defeat and boredom from day 7 at the US Open, a moment before the men enter the fourth round and the women begin the quarter finals.

She might be the sexiest lady on the WTA, but that doesn’t win you matches. Ana Ivanovic hasn’t won a singles title since 2008, and got knocked out of the US Open in the fourth round after losing to Kim Clijsters.

On the other side of the court, Clijsters seemed very pleased with her 6-1, 6-2 win, setting her up against Australian Samantha Stosur in the quarter finals. Here she’s looking a little princess Fiona’ish.

Israeli Shahar Pe’er couldn’t handle Venus Williams, again, losing 7-6, 6-3, making it the sixth time she has lost to Venus, still searching for her first win against her.

And although she won, Venus was frustrated by the tenacious Israeli during the match more than once. Still, Venus is on to the quarter finals.

Sam Querrey was able to upset Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, keeping the American contention in the Men’s alive, along with Mardy Fish.

Oh, Andy Murray. With 2010 running out of grand slam tournies, Murray will begin 2011 without a major trophy in his cabinet back home. Even he said after his loss to Wawrinka that maybe he’ll never win one.

Above everyone else at Queens is Rafael Nadal, who is yet to drop a set and looks to make this the first year he wins three slams and gunning for his first US Open. Truth is? I’m not his biggest fan, but he deserves it more than anyone else at Flushing.

And as always, there are those who find tennis a bit… boring…
