Week 1 of NFL action is over, and here are the top 4 performers we picked out for you guys and gals to be impressed with members of the Bears, Giants, Titans and Texans.

Matt Forte, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears narrowly escaped the Detroit Lions on Sunday, with many thanks going to their Running Back Matt Forte. Forte ran for 50 yards, but more importantly, was Jay Cutler’s main target, with 7 receptions, 151 yards and 2 touchdown catches, including the winning touchdown with 1:32 left in the fourth quarter.

Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans

The best running back in the NFL? Johnson picked up right where he stopped in 2009, running all over the Raiders, running for 142 yards and scoring two touchdowns, eclipsing 4000 career yards after only 32 NFL games, the fourth quickest player in history to reach that milestone (Edgerrin James, Eric Dickerson and Clinton Portis ahead of him).

Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants

Hakeem Nicks was there for Eli Manning and the Giants all the way, as the Giants struggled, at least in the beginning, in their new Stadium. Nicks caught three touchdown passes, three out of the Giants’ four and helped Eli improve his QB rating after throwing 3 picks in the game.

Arian Foster, Houston Texans

Arian Foster ran for 231 yards and scored three touchdowns, in a huge opening week win for the Texans, beating the Colts for only the second time in 17 meeting, while Foster ran for the most yards on an opening weekend since O.J. ran for 250 yards in 1973. Peyton Manning had a huge night, going for 433 yards, but that wasn’t enough against Foster’s, an undrafted back in his sophomore NFL season career game, which also set a new franchise record for yards.
