The third weekend of 2010 college football just blew by, and here’s a little taste of the action from Saturday, in pictures.

Ohio State 43, Ohio 7

Ohio State hand no problems in their Ohio Derby, romping the Bobcats on their way to a 3-0 start to 2010 and another week at number 2 in the rankings. Terrelle Pryor went for 235 passing yards and two TD’s and added another one with his own legs. Next is another potential breeze at home, against Eastern Michigan.

Virginia Tech 49, East Carolina 27

After beginning the season with two losses, The Hokies bounced back against East Carolina, climbing out of a 10 point hole and scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to run away from the Pirates, with Tyrod Taylor throwing for two TD’s and David Wilson running for two more.

Georgia Tech 30, North Carolina 24

The Tar Heels had high hopes coming into 2010 about being a major force in the ACC, but so far, 3 weeks into the season, they’re still looking for their first win. The GT Yellow Jackets kept the ball on the ground, squeezing out a 30-24 win with Joshua Nesbitt running for 104 yards and a TD plus another passing TD, leading his team to their second win of the season.

USC 32, Minnesota 21

No Bowl aspirations this season and the next due to penalties but USC are still perfect after three matches, despite being less than impressive again. Matt Barkley threw for two TD’s but also two interceptions, and it was Robert Woods’ 97 yard return touchdown that gave USC the third quarter lead they never lost grip of, on their way to a 3-0 nothing start.

Florida 31, Tennessee 17

The Florida Gators won their sixth straight game against their big rivals and despite not scoring in the first quarter for the third straight game, Urban Meyer’s guys scored 17 in the third, running away from the Vols who are now 1-2, mostly due to a non existent running game (only 29 yards).

Nebraska 56, Washington 21

Taylor Martinez had an incredible first road game as the Nebraska Cornhuskers stayed perfect, running all over the Huskies in Seattle, as Martinez threw for 150 yards and a touchdown while running for 137 yards and three touchdowns, with Nebraska having three guys rushing for 100 yards or more (Rex Burkhead and Roy Helu Jr. as well).

Wisconsin 20, Arizona State 19

Jay Valai was the unlikely hero in Madison yesterday, blocking Arizona State’s extra point kick that would have tied things at 20-20 with four minutes left. Wisconsin had a rough outing, but eventually won, a familiar 3-0 start for them and improved to 9-1 against Pac-10 teams, while John Clay (123 yards, 1 TD) ran for his ninth consecutive 100+ game.

Texas 24, Texas Tech 14

It’s never easy coming into Lubbock, but the Longhorns, despite a very shaky performance from their quarterback, did just enough to win and improve to 3-0, as Barrett Matthews scored a fourth quarter touchdown that finally pulled them away from the Red Raiders who finished with -16 rushing yards, their worst output on the ground since 2004.

Alabama 62, Duke 13

Another (easy) win for the tide, as Mark Ingram made his 2010 debut, running for 151 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Alabama had 626 yards of total offense, in a game that was pretty much over the moment it began, with the nation’s number one team leading 28-3 after the first quarter.
