More than a month into the 2010 College Football season, and the favorties for the BCS Championship Game keep on with their winning ways, and here’s how Saturday looked like in the big games, plus some words of our own.

Alabama 31, Florida 6

The Crimson Tide defense did most of the work as the number one team in the nation allowed only two field goals from Urban Meyer’s Gators, as Mark Ingram ran for two touchdowns in the two schools first non title game meeting since 2006. This was the first time the Gators, now 4-1, couldn’t score a touchdown since 2005 and their 31-3 loss to… Alabama.

Nevada 44, UNLV 26

The Wolf Pack won their sixth straight “battle for the Fremont Cannon”, riding strong behind Running Back Vai Taua, who had his fourth straight 100+ yard game, rushing for 188 yards and three touchdowns, adding another touchdown catch just for show. Nevada are now off to their first 5-0 start since 1991, enjoying their first time in the top 25 in over 60 years.

Ohio State 24, Illinois 13

It usually isn’t easy for the Buckeyes when playing the Illini, but they tend to win (sixth win in last seven meetings), improving to 5-0, probably keeping their n0.2 in the nation spot. Terrelle Pryor struggled with his throwing, but ran for 104 yards and led the drive that allowed Dan Herron to score that finally put the game away with just under two minutes in the fourth quarter.

Oregon 52, Standord 31

LaMichael James ran for 257 yards, second most in Oregon history, scoring three touchdowns and quarterback Darron Thomas threw for 238 yards and 3 TD’s, adding 117 yards and one TD on the ground as Oregon improved to 5-0 while Stanford lost their first game of the season. It was the Ducks’ 13th straight win at Autzen Stadium and 10th consecutive Pac-10 victory.

Oklahoma 28, Texas 20

DeMarco Murray ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns, his third 100+ game of the season and fifth straight in which he has scored a touchdown or more, handing Texas their second straight loss (3-2) while the Sooners improved to 5-0 despite, again, not impressing and almost losing a two touchdown lead, again. It was also Oklahoma’s first win over their Red River Rivals since 2007. Interesting Stat: The winner of this game has gone on to win the Big 12 six of the last eleven years.

Washington 32, USC 31

Jake Locker had a huge game, passing for 310 yards and running for 110 as the Huskies beat the Trojans for the second straight year, handing Lane Kiffin his first loss as USC’s head coach and their first loss in 2010. Erik Folk’s field goal as time expired after Locker led the team down the field for two and a half minutes following a USC missed FG won it for Huskies how are now 2-2 and 1-0 in the Pac-10.
