The reality is that every boxing fan wants to see Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight Manny Pacquiao. It’s still not happening, but the two of them meeting and talking is big enough news to get everyone hyped up, and obviously for those making memes to get their creative juices flowing.

There are quite a few rumors about what went down in the short conversation between the two boxers, meeting in Miami during an NBA game. Did the two just happen to be there on the same night? Probably there’s a bit more to this than serendipity.

So was it just a matter of exchanging phone numbers? Did it take eight years for the two to get each other’s number? Probably not. There’s a rumor going on that the two along with their entourages met in a hotel later that evening and discusses things for a couple of hours.

So is this the final step towards securing the fight? Believe it or not, this actually feels like progress, but experience has taught us that it’s going to take a lot more foreplay and trash talking before these two finally get together in the ring.
