Michael Vick And His Perfect Night Against the Redskins

It was over after the first quarter, with the Eagles leading 28-0 over the Redskins. Sorry, I mean it was over after the first play, an 88 yard touchdown pass from Vick to DeSean Jackson, who apparently told the broadcasting staff they got something special coming on the first play.

Vick’s numbers – 333 Passing yards (20-28) and four passing touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 150.7. He rushed for another 80 yards and scored two TD’s with his feet. These numbers, who have some historic significance, stood out even more compared to Donovan McNabb, just signing a 78 million dollar contract extension with the Redskins, throwing three interceptions (to go along with his 2 Touchdown passes). Vick? He still hasn’t thrown an interception or fumbled the ball once, all season.

And now for history? Vick became the first player in NFL History with at least 300 passing yards, 50 on the ground, 4 touchdown passes and 2 rushing TD’s. He moved to number 2 on the all-time list for yards rushing by a QB, moving past Steve Young. The 88 yard opening play became the longest TD pass against the Redskins since 1992.

Looking more on a team note, The Eagles (6-3 now), set team records for total yards (592), points in a half (45) and had the biggest lead by a road team at the end of the first quarter (28-0) for over than 60 years.

And if you’re looking for fantasy value, Vick tallied 49 points last night, the best of the season and the best fantasy output since Clinton Portis in 2003 brought home 54 points for his fantasy owners.
