NFL Rumors – Miami Dolphins Turning Dion Jordan Into a Linebacker

Dion Jordan

It’s always interesting to see teams trying to switch players’ positions. The Miami Dolphins will attempt to succeed in that with Dion Jordan, moving him from the defensive line to the linebacker position.

Jordan, a third overall pick in the 2013 draft out of Oregon actually began his college career as a wide receiver before moving to the other unit, which means he is no stranger to conversions and adjustments. How well will he do as a strong side linebacker?

For now, the Dolphins are just considering it, but with so many holes to plug on defense and especially at the linebacker spot, it’s more and more likely that we’re going to see Jordan in the second line of defense in 2015.

The Dolphins traded the disappointing Dannell Ellerbe and released Philip Wheeler. That leaves them with Jelani Jenkins and Joa Misi, two solid but not star starters. Even with moving Jordan to the linebacker position, the Dolphins are going to need some help in the draft if to solidify their defense, because the remaining options in free agency aren’t too attractive.

In 26 games over the last two seasons for the Dolphins, starting in just one of them, Jordan has 39 tackles and 3 sacks.
