In a very deep wide receiver class in this upcoming NFL draft, Nelson Agholor coming out of USC is one of the most impressive prospects, most likely to end up playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Agholor is coming off three good years with USC and has worked out for Chip Kelly, a coach who saw him up close and personal back when he was still the head coach at Oregon and in the Pac-12.
Agholor had a fantastic junior year, catching 104 passes for 1313 yards, making the most of guys like Marqise Lee departing for the pros, leaving the stage for him to become the Trojans’ number one receiver.
And it might be more than just the Eagles who are interested. According to Peter King, who is quite well connected but makes plenty of mistakes as well, there’s growing interest in the 21-year old who was born in Nigeria, grew up in Tampa and was a five star recruit when he hit the college scene in Southern California.
It’s hard to say where Agholor falls. Some think he’s a second round pick and maybe even a third, but at ESPN, Mel Kiper Jr. is picking him to be the fifth best wide receiver in this draft class and the 18th best overall prospect, which should mean a late first round pick.
