The best photos from week 13 in College Football, aka rivalry week, as Oregon and Auburn kept the top spots while the Aggies ruined it for Texas, Oklahoma (as underdogs!) complicated things with their win at Bedlam, Florida State fally beat Urban Meyer and Ohio State, as usual, didn’t go easy on Michigan.
No Bowl Game For Texas
Texas A&M beat the Longhorns 24-17 at Austin, with Curtis Gray running for 223 yards and two touchdowns. The Aggies (9-3) are still in the hunt for the Big 12 South top spot, while Texas (5-7) will miss the bowl season for the first time since 1997, a year after making the national championship game.

Oregon Stick to Winning
The number one team in the nation kept on going, beating Arizona 48-29 despite 448 yards from the Wildcats’ Nick Foles. LaMichael James ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns, and all that’s left now is to beat the Beavers in the “Civil War” game for the Ducks to for a chance at their first national title.

Auburn Rule in Tuscaloosa
This is just Auburn’s and Cam Newton’s year, so it seems. Auburn were in a 21 point hole after the first quarter, but the defense shut down the Tide during the next three quarters while Cam Newton got going, leading Auburn to their first win over ‘Bama since 2007 and their first win in Tuscaloosa since ’06. Newton three for three TD’s and ran for another one, making the Tigers comeback from 24 points down their biggest this season (and there have been quite a few) and the biggest ever for any team against Alabama.

Clean, Old Fashioned Hate
Georgia had to win. Because it’s against Tech, and because they needed the win to become bowl eligible. And they did, beating the Yellow Jackets 42-34 in the first ever night game in Athens in this rivalry, making one mistake less in a game in which both teams seemed to squander away chance after chance with wrong decisions time after time. Georgia’s Washaun Ealey put the Bulldogs’ win beyond doubt by scoring the last TD of the game with just over minute to go, sending the fans at Sanford celebrating.

Perfect Day for Florida State
Jimbo Fisher, in his first year as the Seminoles head coach set a few firsts – The win over the Florida Gators yesterday (31-7), with QB Christian Ponder throwing for three TD’s put the Seminoles at 9-3, the most wins in FS history for a debutant head coach. Jimbo Fisher also became the first head coach to win for State against Florida on his first season in over 50 years. Thanks to Maryland’s win over North Carolina State, the Seminoles will go to the ACC title game against Virginia Tech. This was Florida’s (7-5) first loss to the Seminoles since 2003 and Urban Meyer’s first loss in this rivalry since arriving from Utah.

Ohio State Rule Rivalry, Again
Is this the biggest rivalry of all? Maybe, but it’s been pretty one sided in recent years, as Ohio State (11-1) beat Michigan (7-5) for the seventh straight time, their longest winning streak against the Wolverines. Dan Herron ran for 175 yards and a touchdown as Michigan suffered another heavy (37-7) loss against the Buckeyes, making it 0-3 for Rich Rodriguez since arriving at Ann Arbor, getting outscored 100-24.

Landry Jones Steps up in Bedlam
He got picked three times, but threw for 4 TD’s and 468 yards, as Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 47-41 at Bedlam, with James Hanna scoring a 76 yard touchdown off a Jones pass to certify the Sooners’ win, making it a 3-way tie between Oklahoma, State and Texas A&M in the Big 12 South. This was a rare occasion when the Sooners went into this game as underdogs, ranked 13 against the Cowboys #9 rank, and an ever rarer fourth quarter with 40 points and over 400 yards combined.
