NFL Rumors – New York Giants, Chicago Bears, New York Jets & St. Louis Rams Interested in Drafting Kevin White

Kevin White

An All-American last season with West Virginia, Kevin White is probably going to be the first or second wide receiver taken off the board, with the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and St. Louis Rams as his most likely landing spots.

Regardless of the team, it’s hard seeing White fall outside the top 10. It’s going to be him or Amari Cooper from Alabama getting to be the first wide receiver selected. While Cooper had the better college career, it feels as if White is possibly a bit better suited for the professional game, at least right now, which doesn’t mean a whole lot basically.

White had a huge 2014, his second season in Morgantown, catching 109 passes for 1447 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. He’s big (6’3) and has excellent deep speed to fill the job of a number one or number two receiver. Teams picking this high always have more than one need, but White seems like the kind of player that can immediately upgrade an offense, as long as there are no quarterback issues.

Because of that subject, the Bears seem the most likely team to take him. They are 7th on the board (one pick behind the Jets) and aren’t going to get rid of Jay Cutler this season. Brandon Marshall has left, which leaves an opening for a big play receiver who can also be used as a possession type of guy next to Alshon Jeffery. The Jets need offensive weapons too, but are they sticking with Geno Smith as their starting quarterback?

Both the Giants (9th) and Rams (10th) would love to land him, but most mocks have White getting taken before it’s their turn to select. There’s depth in the wide receiver position this year, but the level drops off once Cooper and White are off the board. Unless there’s some sort of trade to move up in the world, it looks like he’s coming to either the Bears or Jets.
