There’s a big argument about how to rank the current class of wide receivers, but DeVante Parker is one of the best. How good? Probably a borderline top 10 pick, with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins very interested in taking him.
For the Giants, it seems like they’re in a perfect position to land the former Louisville star, with the ninth overall pick in the draft. Pairing him up with Odell Beckham Jr. while Victor Cruz plays in the slot gives the Giants a scary looking passing offense, at least based on Parker’s size.
The Dolphins would also love to add more pieces in order to make things easier for Ryan Tannehill. The problem for Miami is that they’re 14th on the draft order, and there’s a good chance Parker is going to be gone by then.
So what do they do? It seems they’re aiming for the 10th overall pick which belongs to the Rams. The Rams have indicated that they might be willing to trade down, but it obviously depends on what’s being offered to them. If the Dolphins do move into the first 10 selectors, obviously they need to hope the New York Giants don’t take Parker first.
Parker complete four years of action with the Cardinals, but played just seven games in his senior year. He was on pace for his best season yet, catching 43 passes for 855 yards with five touchdowns. He has 33 touchdowns in four seasons with Louisville. Parker also offers a very big threat to special teams in the return game.
