Lots of action around the league last night, with the San Antonio Spurs keeping their best in the league status, the Bulls finally beating the Lakers and Miami enjoying the James-Wade combo. Here are the top individual performances from last night –
Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls point guard became the next player to get M-V-P chants from his fans, scoring 29 points and adding 5 rebounds and 9 assists, leading the Bulls to their first win over the Los Angeles Lakers in nearly four years with a 88-84 win, improving to 13-8 and 10-4 against Western teams, the best record against the West among Eastern conference teams. After 20 games, Rose is averaging 25.3 points and 8.2 assists and is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league so far this season.
Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat

Wade continued his fantastic December, leading along with Lebron their Miami crew to a 7th straight win, beating the slumping Warriors 106-84 at Oakland. D-Wade got over the early injury scare, finishing with 34 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists, as the Heat improved to 16-8. In their 7 game win streak, they’ve won by an average of 17.3 points, with Wade averaging 25.3 points per game.
Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder

We’ve already mentioned Westbrook’s fantastic start this season four weeks ago, and despite Kevin Durant’s presence, Westbrook is the best player on the Thunder (16-8) this season. Last night he scored 29 points and dished out 10 assists as Oklahoma beat the New Orleans Hornets 97-92. Durant scored 25, and him and Westbrook continued to combine as the league’s top scoring duo, averaging a combined 51.3 points per game this season.
Andrew Bogut, Milwaukee Bucks

Andrew Bogut has his fourth career 20-20 game, scoring 24 points, grabbing 22 rebounds and blocking 5 shots (second consecutive 5 block game) as the Bucks beat the Rockets 97-91, winning for the third time in four games. Bogut is averaging 20.8 points and 16 rebounds per game since returning from injury just over a week ago.
Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves

Kevin Love, MVP? A bit exaggerating probably, but his stat lines are amazing. Love scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as the Timberwolves beat the Detroit Pistons 109-99. Love had his ninth consecutive double-double game and ninth consecutive game with over 15 rebounds. He’s averaging a league best 15.7 boards per game while scoring 20.4 points but his field goal percentage, 44.4%, is way low for a big guy. Still, like Westbrook, is another UCLA Bruin having a fantastic season.
