NFL Rumors – Jacksonville Jaguars Hoping Marqise Lee Can Stop Getting Injured

Marqise Lee

Entering his second NFL season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Marqise Lee was expected to put the nagging injuries of his rookie year behind. Turns out that wishful thinking isn’t good enough.

The second round pick in 2014 did have a strong finish to his first year in the league but did miss three games because of injuries, and participation in the offseason program leaves him with a knee injury once again, putting him at a week to week situation. Nothing too drastic or tragic, but these things add up.

Lee caught 37 passes for 422 yards last season, scoring one touchdown. He was the fourth most productive wide receiver on a team without a clear, standout #1 guy, and without much of an offense, ranked 32nd in the league in points, finishing with a 3-13 record as Blake Bortles, another rookie, got a full season at the quarterback position. He didn’t fall flat on his face, but didn’t exactly show he’s the one to take this franchise out of their long slump.

The Jaguars drafted two wide receivers in the recent draft, showing they’re still not quite pleased with the stock they have. Rashad Greene out of Florida State with their fifth round pick and Neal Sterling in the 7th round out of Monmouth. They focused on offense in the draft overall, also adding a tight end, running back and offensive lineman.
