In two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael hasn’t had the opportunity to play a lot, but thing might be different for him in 2015.
Michael has been the number three back behind Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin since entering the league, picking up just 52 carries and one receptions in a total of 14 games, getting a total of 266 yards from scrimmage without a single touchdown.
Year 3 might be different for him, at least from the perspective of getting more chances in the preseason to prove himself.
Lynch won’t be working too hard in the preseason while Turbin is recovering from hip surgery. This gives Michael the opportunity to get a lot of touches before week 1, and maybe impress Pete Carroll enough so he’ll become more than a one-carry per game type of back in 2015.
Carroll agrees with the sentiment that Michael is ready to carry a bigger load: This is his time. So we’re going to push him in that regard and try to match up with his expectations. He wants to be a front-line back and he has tremendous talent. We’ll see how it goes.
