There should be no lack of targets for Andrew Luck next season, as the Indianapolis Colts made more moves in the offseason to give their quarterback extra options of throwing the ball to. Andre Johnson, Frank Gore (running back) and Phillip Dorsett, joining T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener.

It’s actually going to be difficult for Luck to keep everyone satisfied. Hilton has emerged as one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL, catching 82 passes for 1345 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. Andre Johnson might be getting old in NFL terms but still expects to be heavily involved in the offense. Frank Gore isn’t going to settle for a minor role in this offense.

Luck had his best season in 2014, his third in the NFL, leading the Colts to the AFC Championship game, with the team and him improving a bit in each season since he arrived in the NFL. He led the league in passing touchdowns with 40 (throwing 16 interceptions) and also posted his best passer rating with 96.5 and was sacked only 27 times, the lowest of his three-year career. His net yards per attempt were also his career best.

This is Luck’s team, no doubt. The Colts are going to go wherever he takes them, hoping that they’ve finally put the kind of offense around him that is good enough to make the Super Bowl, which does make sense considering the progress over the last three years, in each of them making the postseason and improving the year after.

But besides getting more players to throw to and possibly, finally a running back that’s not going to crumble right after he puts on the Colts’ jersey, it’s about Luck himself and his ability to become more smart in his throws, especially early on in games. Luck is a master of comebacks, but the Colts can’t afford to keep falling behind early in games, especially when against opponents like the Patriots there’s no way to come back.
