NFL Rumors – New Orleans Saints & Arizona Cardinals Interested in Signing Jermaine Gresham

With the free agency market almost depleted of talent that can make an impact, Jermaine Gresham becomes the number one tight end to be signed, as the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for his visit and the New Orleans Saints have already made an official offer.

Gresham has played for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2010, making two Pro Bowls and while never posting outlandish and eye-popping numbers, he’s been a solid option to throw the ball to, averaging 56 receptions, 544.4 yards and 4.8 touchdowns a season, missing a total of six games over the years, including just one last season.

That doesn’t mean he’s a mountain and symbol of fitness, coming off a back surgery this offseason which is why the Bengals weren’t in a rush to bring him back. But Gresham looks good to go and is drawing interest from a number of teams. He has his visit to the Cardinals lineup up, and he already has an offer from the Saints, a team that is well known for making their tight ends very happy.

The problem for Gresham, besides his back injury, is his focus. He can make some impressive plays and isn’t the easiest player to cover, but he can follow that up with a surprising penalty or drop. In short, he’s not exactly the guy to step in for Jimmy Graham and work wonders, but maybe in a better offensive system than the Bengals and the Cardinals, he can do some damage and improve on his consistency.
