It’s another win for Manchester United in the International Champions Cup friendly tour, beating San Jose Earthquakes with goals from Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Andres Pereira, while Fatai Alashe got one back for the hosts just before half time.
Manchester United started with the ambitious Wayne Rooney up front while Depay was playing behind him, and Mata with Ashley Young playing in a wide role. In the midfield it was Morgan Schneiderlin with Michael Carrick, while Bastian Schweinsteiger came on in the second half. Matteo Darmian was among the starters, while Adnan Januzaj and Ander Herrera came on to play in the second half as well.
The first two goals for Manchester United were more about some very poor defending which allowed Mata and Depay to score their goals. Pereira’s header in the second half was a bit more impressive, ending any hopes of the hosts to walk away with a more satisfying result.
