NFL Rumors – Tennessee Titans Impressed With Dorial Green-Beckham Progress

Dorial Green-Beckham

Taking Dorial Green-Beckham was something of a risk for the Tennessee Titans due to his past and lack of activity in the year prior to the draft, but it seems the talented wide receiver is surpassing expectations.

The big rookie (6’6, 237 pounds) isn’t going to be a starter right away, but he’s already had his chance to play with the first-team in one of the practices, and will probably get another opportunity to show he’s ready for being more than a bit-player during the first game of preseason. The Titans certainly seem to be happy with his progress.

DGB has shown the ability to pick up on the playbook very well. For a big guy he can run, and he sink his hips, and get out at the top of his routes. Putting him in with the first group kind of elevates that sense of urgency for him. He has done well. There have been so growing pains, but that kid is going to be all right. It’s been hard for him because he missed so much. But he is working at it, and that is why we’re putting him in there and trying to put him in situations to see how he responds, and that will continue.

Green-Beckham didn’t play in the 2014 season because of a transfer restriction following a waiver request being denied by the NCAA. He was previously on the Missouri team, but a number of arrests related to Marijuana possession led to his dismissal from the team and the transfer that didn’t work out to Oklahoma.

He caught 87 passes for 1278 yards and 17 touchdowns during his two years with Missouri. He was the 40th overall pick (2nd round) in the 2015 NFL draft, and would have probably been a top 10 or 15 pick had his 2014 season not been botched up so badly.
