NFL Rumors – Chicago Bears Not Displeased With Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler

Considering how bad Jay Cutler was last season, having him look OK in the preseason is enough for the Chicago Bears to feel optimistic, although with problems in their offensive line remaining a tradition, it might not matter who good he is.

Cutler completed 8-of-9 passes for 69 yards as the Bears beat the Indianapolis Colts 23-11, although it was Jimmy Clausen, who some think deserves the starting spot, that won the game, putting the Bears in the lead with a touchdown pass to Joshua Bellamy in the third quarter.

Cutler couldn’t get the Bears into the end zone but did lead drives that ended in three field goals, including one that came after Cutler ran himself into the end zone but the score was cancelled because of a penalty.

One thing the Bears seem to be good with are running backs and wide receivers. Matt Forte played and rushed for 25 yards, Jeremy Langford looked very good with 80 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. Martellus Bennett caught three passes for 32 yards, and the Bears still have Alshon Jeffrey and Kevin White to look forward to coming back.
