Playing against a Houston Texans team without three of their best players on defense, the Denver Broncos wanted to see more from Peyton Manning.
Manning finished with 8-of-14 in over a quarter of quarterbacking, throwing for 52 yards. In the four drives he was on the field, the Broncos had to punt four times, while later on, with Brock Osweiler and Trevor Siemian, they came back to win 14-10.
The Texans played without J.J. Watt, Vince Wilfork and Jadeveon Clowney, which means it was a little bit easier on the Broncos than it would have been under regular circumstances.
One thing that seems to be a rolling problem for the Broncos is the play of their special teams. Last week they fumbled two punts and allowed a 103 yard return for a touchdown. This time, Omar Bolden was tackled for a six-yard loss on a punt return and a punt by Shane Lechler was downed on the Broncos 2-yard line early in the second quarter.
C.J. Anderson finished with 24 yards on four carries, while Demaryius Thomas caught three passes for 24 yards.
