NFL Rumors – Pittsburgh Steelers Feeling Great About Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger

While it took Ben Roethlisberger some time before hitting his stride in the 24-19 win over the Green Bay Packers, the Pittsburgh Steelers got another fine performance from their star quarterback.

Roethlisberger struggled in the first quarter and one big touchdown play with Antonio Brown was taken off the board because of an offensive pass interference penalty, but in the second quarter, playing a hurry up offense, things looked much better.

Roethlisberger led the Steelers 51 yards in seven plays, concluded with a touchdown pass to Markus Wheaton, giving the Steelers a 9-8 lead before the reserves got on the field. Overall Roethlisberger was 11-of-14 for 100 yards.

As for his backups, Bruce Gradkowski didn’t do much, but Landry Jones, trying to make the Steelers keep him on the team and believe he has some kind of future with the team, threw a couple of touchdown passes. He completed just 10-of-19 and threw an interception as well.

Le’Veon Bell had 32 yards from scrimmage and Antonio Brown caught four passes for 24 yards. The Steelers got six sacks during the day including one on Rodgers, while dropping both Brett Hundley and Scott Tolzien twice each.
