NFL Rumors – St. Louis Rams Can’t Afford Nick Foles to be This Bad

Nick Foles

The St. Louis Rams have been waiting a long time for a starting quarterback to be both good and healthy at the same time. Nick Foles might be that guy, finally, but his performance in the 14-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans was not what they were hoping to see.

Foles, like the other Rams players, needs a break from traveling. The Rams have played their first two preseason games on the road, and had a joint training session with the Dallas Cowboys that went up in flames in California. Playing in St. Louis would do everyone a lot of good.

Foles threw one interception that was returned for a touchdown by Perrish Cox and completed just 3-of-7 for 18 yards. Afterwards, Sean Mannion, Case Keenum and Austin Davis took over, all looking a little bit better.

The Jeff Fisher rebuilding plan has been going on for quite some time. With or without a competent quarterback, the Rams managed to raise themselves from the bottom of the league and into a team that makes life difficult for their opponents with a strong defense and sometimes making something happens offensively. Foles is good enough, when he’s healthy, to take them a little bit further, but at some point, he has to start showing it.

Tra Mason, not too happy with all the attention Todd Gurley has been getting (didn’t play, as expected) ran for just six yards on three carries.
