NFL Rumors – San Diego Chargers Need D.J. Fluker to Adjust Quickly

D.J. Fluker

After two years of playing right tackle, the San Diego Chargers have moved D.J. Fluker to the right guard position, something he’s struggling to completely adjust to.

Fluker, the 11th overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft was actually considered a guard coming out of Alabama, but it seems that the last two seasons of protection around the edge have left their mark on him, and he’s a bit overwhelmed with the pace of things at guard. Johnnie Troutman, who Fluker replaced three weeks ago, actually had an easier time settling in the spot.

The Chargers have a rebuilt offensive line with a new running back to take care of, Melvin Gordon who put up some impressive numbers during his years with Wisconsin. A lot is riding on Fluker’s ability to settle down and find his new role less complicated to perform, with the Chargers often struggling when it comes to their offensive line.

Fluker has missed just one game in his two seasons with the Chargers has two more seasons left on his rookie deal.
