The New England Patriots didn’t get too excited about the Miami Dolphins winning two games in a row. Tom Brady showed Ryan Tannehill a thing or two about being a quarterback, and the memes celebrated the never ending AFC East dominance.
Now, the Patriots haven’t had the most difficult of schedules except for their New York Jets game. But going 7-0, averaging over 35 points per game and with one of the best defenses in the league? It’s hard not to be impressed.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins get back to reality. Blowing out the Texans and Jaguars was nice as a confidence builder, but this team isn’t at the level needed to make things remotely difficult on the Patriots, who have had most of the points scored against them coming while the win was already sealed.
Things will get slightly more difficult for them in the second half of the season, but not by much. Either way, if they’re really that good, it shouldn’t matter who they face on their road to maybe more perfection.
