NFL Rumors – Buffalo Bills Don’t Mind Relying on Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins

The Buffalo Bills don’t mind waiting for Sammy Watkins to get out of his injury routine, considering him to be one of the best wide receivers in the league, or at least he’ll be one in a very short time.

Their 33-17 win over the Miami Dolphins brought them back to 4-4. It had Tyrod Taylor returning with one touchdown passes, completing 11-of-12 passes for 181 yards and a lot of running, with LeSean McCoy scoring one touchdown and Karlos Williams adding two. The passing game was pretty much about one player: Watkins.

The second-year receiver out of Clemson caught 8 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown. That’s 92.8% of the Bills’ receiving yards, something that hasn’t happened since Qadry Ismail had 258 of the Baltimore Ravens’ 268 receiving yards in 1999. It was also more than double what Watkins had in receiving yards up to this point, playing only five times so far this season, with the injury bug once again coming to get him and leave him out of games.

While Rex Ryan is still making his defensive players unhappy, having the combination of Taylor and Watkins healthy again on the field, along with a potentially difficult to stop power running game, makes them a very dangerous and unpredictable team.
