NFL Rumors – Seattle Seahawks Optimistic About Jimmy Graham

Jimmy Graham injured

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t getting Jimmy Graham back this season, but adding him wasn’t just a one year deal. They expect the tight end to be productive for the next two seasons, even if his first year with the team won’t be filled with thumbs up marks all across the board.

Pete Carroll addressed Graham and his future in Seattle on the team’s website, saying that the team misses him, and in the long term it’s going to turn out to be a great acquisition for the Seahawks. As if he’d say anything else. Graham caught 48 passes for 605 yards through 11 games, which isn’t too far from his numbers last season in which he averaged only 55.6 yards per game. The big difference was his efficiency in the end zone, catching just two touchdowns after 46 in the previous four seasons.

There’s no real information about when Graham is going to be back. His knee injury can go either way, and while Carroll and the Seahawks are hoping they’ll have him ready to go for the 2016 season, his return might take a long time that that.

In the meantime, Russell Wilson will be throwing Luke Willson as his number one tight end target, and the Seahawks also added Chase Coffman, who has been in the league since 2010 and played one game for the Titans this season, to fill up their depth chart at TE.
