The 2010 champion had no problem with his fellow Swiss, Stanislas Wawrinka, beating his doubles partner that won the gold medal in Beijing alongside him. Federer jumped for the jugular from the geto go, taking the first set 6-1. The second and third set didn’t go as easy, but no one could have called them difficult, winning both of them 6-3. For Federer it was his 27th consecutive grand slam quarter final, and as he suggested later, being familiar with the stage was a decisive factor in the match.

Novak Djokovic will be Roger Federer’s Semi Final opponent with their last grand slam clash taking place at the 2010 US Open, with the Serb having the upper hand. Djokovic beat Czech Tomas Berdych in straight sets 6-1, 7-6, 6-1.

Andy Murray will take on Alexandr Dolgopolov and Rafael Nadal, on the verge of becoming the first player since Rod Laver to be champions of all grand slams at once, will take on fellow Spaniard David Ferrer.
