And so it begins… again. Tom Brady is once more suspended for the first four games of the NFL season for his part in the Deflategate scandal, with meme makers having a lot of fun with it.
Just when you thought it was all over, with the NFL draft coming up, the long arm of the NFL law returns to make something that isn’t that important the talk of the day. Brady won an appeal last season that rescinded the initial four-game suspension by the league, but the league appealed that decision, and so we’re now on to yet another part in this battle.
Did Brady cheat? Probably. Did it really matter? Probably not. That’s where the story should end, but the NFL isn’t giving up on this one, no matter how much money it costs, how much time they spend on putting an official asterisk on Brady and the Patriots. Fans think there’s one in other cases anyway, so why not have the NFL officially brand him?
Brady will respond at some point and as we get closer to the season, we’ll probably see Roger Goodell and Brady in court. For now, whoever is playing the Patriots in week 5 (Cleveland Browns) of the 2016 NFL season should be very worried about an angry quarterback coming after them.
