I guess the Nets won’t give up on this trade deadline, and it seems that the Utah Jazz and the Nets have agreed on a trade (still needs league approval) that will send two time NBA All-Star and the villain in the whole Jerry Sloan saga, Deron Williams, to New Jersey. The Jazz will get Devin Harris (previously involved in trade talkes with the Mavs that collapsed) and Derrick Favors.

The Golden State Warriors will also get involved in the deal, probably sending multiple draft picks to the Utah Jazz.

Williams, selected to the All-NBA second team in 2010 is averaging 21.3 points and 9.7 assists this season, leading the Jazz to a 31-26 record. They have lost their last four games since Jerry Sloan leaving, directly related to his relationship with Deron Williams according to reports. Williams hasn’t denied that he and Sloan weren’t the best of buds but said that Sloan wasn’t pushed by him to quit. “He’s stronger than that.”

Devin Harris, a 2009 All-Star, is averaging 15 points and 7.6 assists per game, with the Nets near the bottom of the East (17-40). Derrick Favors, also part of the deal the Nets offered the Nuggets for Anthony, is averaging 6.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in his rookie year.
With this deal Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov finally gets a star on his team in his attempt to make the Nets meaningful and in playoff contention as soon as possible.
