Trade deadline is over, with the biggest moves being the Carmelo Anthony + Chauncey Billups arrival in the Big Apple while the Knicks shipped half their team to Colorado and Deron Williams leaving Utah and the Jerry Sloan mess behind him, giving New Jersey an A-Lister. Still, there were plenty of other moves the last few days, including some at the very end, and we’re here to recap for you.

Nuggets – Knicks – Wolves

The biggest trade this week, also by pure numbers of player and by caliber – The Carmelo Anthony saga was finally over, as the Knicks suddenly became a potential contender, outsider but still contender for the East. The New York Knicks got Carmelo Anthony, a ‘Redeem Teamer’ and four time All-Star, averaging 25.2 points and 7.7 rebounds this season for at least three years along with former NBA champion and a Finals MVP (2004) Chauncey Billups, still very productive at 34, averaging 16.5 points and 5.4 assists. They also got Shelden Williams, Renaldo Blackman and Anthony Carter from Denver. The Wolves’ Corey Brewer (8.6 ppg) joined as well.

Denver got four draft picks from the Knicks – two first round and two second round, along with Wilson Chandler (16.4 ppg), Danilo Gallinari (15.6 ppg), Raymond Felton (16.9 ppg and 9 apg), Timofey Mozgov. The Wolves sent Kosta Koufos.

The Wolves’ share – Eddie Curry and Anthony Randolph plus cash from the Knicks and a future second round draft pick from the Nuggets. The Knicks got immediately stronger and more star power in a city and team starving for the ol’ glory days while the Nuggets didn’t necessarily get better but they added depth and already proved their new-look is dangerous, beating the Celtics 89-75 last night.

Nets – Jazz

The New Jersey Nets finally got a star, maybe not the brightest (as in shiny, not stupid) one but definitely one of the best point guards in the league – Deron Williams (21.3 ppg, 9.7 apg) who is still denying he IS the reason for Jerry Sloan leaving the Jazz after a million years. The Jazz, looking like they’re deciding to start over, got Devin Harris (15 ppg, 7.6 apg) and Derrick Favors. In addition to players, Utah got two first round draft picks from the Nets. As much as I love Deron Williams, the Jazz made a good deal in my opinion. Not to say the Nets got screwed. They are a better team now. Lets see who they can get in the summer.

Kings – Hornets

Carl Landry on the move again. I love this player, but he seems to be a trading chip so far in his career. Suffering from the never stopping rotation at Sacramento, Landry averaged 11.9 points in 26.5 minutes a night and will now hope for better days at New Orleans, giving up Marcus Thornton and cash for Landry.

Hawks – Wizards

Mike Bibby’s Atlanta days are over. The Hawks sent Bibby (9.4 ppg), Maurice Evans and Jordan Crawford to DC for Kirk Hinrich (11.1 ppg) and Hilton Armstrong. The Wizards also got a first round draft pick.

Clippers – Cavs

After two and a half seasons with the Clippers, Baron Davis (12.8 points, 7 assists) is back in the Eastern conference after a long long time, joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, hoping to rise in a LeBron-less era. They sent James’ no.2 during the good days (not too long ago), Mo Williams (13.3 points) and Jamario Moon. The Clippers also got a first round draft pick with very good chances of it being number one.

Celtics – Thunder

A trade I really didn’t like for the Celtics, giving up Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson for Jeff Green (15.2 points) and Nenad Krstic. They did get more scoring ability with Green, but the Celtic’s big advantage over pretty much everyone is the beef in the middle. Perkins was injured a lot this season but still, his presence, especially on D, is crucial. Krstic can probably do more damage on offense but isn’t as close physically.

Cavs – Celtics

More from both teams, although a rather insignificant move – The Celtics got a second round draft pick from Cleveland and sent Semih Erden and Luke Harangody to the Cavs.

Grizzlies – Rockets

Houston got involved in the final day, beginning with sending Shane Battier (8.6 points) and Ishmael Smith to Memphis for Hasheem Thabeet trying to stop him from reaching a bust status forever.

Rockets – Suns

The Rockets made another move, sending Aaron Brooks to Phoenix for Goran Dragic and a future first round pick. The Suns usually trade their draft picks for cash anyway.

Bobcats – Blazers

Great trade for Portland in my opinion, getting Gerlad Wallace (15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds) while shipping Dante Cunningham, Joel Przybilla and Sean Marks plus two future draft picks. I really like how this improves the Blazers chances in the West, right now headed for a match with either the Lakers or the Mavs (I’m pretty sure they prefer the Mavs). The Bobcats, still in the race for the 8th spot in the East, gave up their best player.

Bobcats – Thunder

Michael Jordan’s Bobcats completed their dealings by sending Nazr Mohammed to Oklahoma (7.3 points, 5 rebounds) for D.J. White and Morris Peterson.
