When Atlanta and Miami were still in the middle of their series, a friend of mine and me were talking about the fact that no matter who comes out the winner between the Hawks and the Heat, he will get swept by the Cavs. From what it looked like in both games at Cleveland, the sweep is a’comin’.

The Hawks didn’t have Al Horford and Marvin Williams to begin with and later on lost Joe Johnson to an ankle injury. It just wasn’t fair from the first moment. Cleveland led by 24 at half time and held a 36 point lead at a certain point in the second half, before putting it back in neutral and cruising the entire fourth quarter.

Lebron was his usual amazing self. 27 Points, 5 assists and 4 steals. A couple of highlight reel dunks, a couple of highlight reel assists and a great step back 3 pointer from almost 40 feet just before the half time buzzer. He didn’t even play the fourth. Yes, it was that easy. Everyone was hitting shots for the Cavs, no one was hitting shots for Atlanta, who shot a horrible 29 for 83 from the field, 34.9%. Cleveland just didn’t give them any good shots.

Josh Smith went 2 for 13, Joe Johnson 5 for 15, Mike Bibby 3 for 8 and the list goes on. Maurice Evans with 16 points was the only one who actually did anything. And for the Cavs? Szczerbiak scored 17, shooting 7 for 9 from the field, and Mo Williams, West and Varejao all scored in double figures.

What’s next? Cleveland head to Atlanta, were the ailing Hawks will try and get a win finally. I seriously doubt that they can. Yes, they are a horrible road team that hasn’t scored more than 90 in their last 15 playoff road games, an NBA record but still, Cleveland are just better. They’re fired up, they’re well prepared for every game and they have Lebron who is just getting better and better every minute. Magic or Celtics can get ready for meeting a well rested Cleveland in the conference finals by the looks of things.
