NFL: Week 1 Preseason Scores

Dak Prescott

The Los Angeles Rams hosting the Dallas Cowboys stood out for two reasons among Saturday’s preseason games: The return to Los Angeles, and Jared Goff’s debut, which didn’t go so well. The Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts were the only teams not playing their starting quarterbacks this season. This gave Dak Prescott a chance to show his stuff, while both Marcus Mariota and Philip Rivers looked good among the other starting QBs.

Dallas Cowboys (0-1) 24  Los Angeles Rams (1-0) 28: The first football game in Los Angeles in over 20 years didn’t leave an impression with Rams fans as Jared Goff had a rough debut, completing 4-of-9 and throwing one interception. The Cowboys led 24-7 at half time, enjoying a strong day by Dak Prescott (Tony Romo didn’t play), throwing for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Seattle Seahawks (1-0) 17  Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) 16: The Seahawks played Russell Wilson and saw him throw an interception, but the ending was much better, winning on a hail mary pass by Trevone Boykin, finding Tanner McEvoy on a 37-yard pass. The Chiefs played five quarterbacks, none of them doing too well.

Indianapolis Colts (1-0) 19  Buffalo Bills (0-1) 18: No Andrew Luck, but both Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris threw touchdown passes. Tyrod Taylor, fresh off signing a big contract, threw just 3 passes before leaving the game. Cardale Jones and EJ Manuel threw a touchdown pass each.

San Diego Chargers (0-1) 10  Tennessee Titans (1-0) 27: Marcus Mariota was perfect, but the touchdown came from the ground, as DeMarco Murray, Bishop Sankey and Derrick Henry ran for a touchdown each. Philip Rivers got the job done in his one series, throwing a touchdown pass to Melvin Gordon. Both Mike Bercovici and Zach Mettenberger threw interceptions in their appearances.
