Until Alabama faces LSU, it’s hard to take anyone with one loss as legitimate national title contender, but things are getting quite interesting on the eve of the release of the first BCS rankings, as LSU got back on the horse, running South Carolina’s perfect start, Florida keeps on impressing and the West Virginia-Geno Smith show came to an end in Lubbock against Texas Tech.

College Football – BCS Finalists Keep Rolling Over Everyone
The best teams in the nation, Alabama, LSU and Oregon kept on winning although the Tigers struggled to come out of Auburn with their perfect record intact, while Kansas State upset Oklahoma to prove who are the real beasts of the Big 12, while Notre Dame delivered another tough blow to Michigan with a 13-6 win and going 4-0 for the first time in a decade.

The upsets continue in week 3 – While the national champions, Alabama, cruised against Arkansas with another shutout and LSU had another cupcake to roll over at home, USC lost at Stanford, with their national title aspirations taking a huge hit; meanwhile, the most dramatic ending to a game you might have seen recently resulted in a 24-21 win for Utah over BYU.

2012 College Football Season – Week 2 Predictions
The second week of College Football should be a rather easy one for the national champion contenders, with Alabama hosting Western Kentucky, USC visiting Syracuse and LSU hosting Washington. The most interesting games should be SEC debuts for Missouri, hosting Georgia, and Texas A&M hosting Florida.

When a number 8 team meets the number 2 team in the nation on a neutral field, we’re supposed to have something closer to 41-14. But the difference between Alabama and Michigan, between the SEC and everyone else, is so big right now, that seeing the Wolverines down 21-0 after 15 minutes shouldn’t come as such a shock.
