    The 2011-2012 NHL season is nearly upon us, as the Boston Bruins hope to make a successful title defense. As usual with most leagues, we open the record books to check out and see if there’s any chance of a non Canadian in the top 10 players with the most points in NHL history (clue – there is, just one) and is anyone even remotely close to Wayne Gretzky (nope).

It’s been two years since we put this list out, and its still the same ten stadiums that have the largest capacity in College Football, with a few shifts. Most importantly, especially for Michigan fans – Michigan Stadium is back on top, as the top 3 spots are owned by Big Ten teams. The SEC has four venues, The Pac-12 with two and one from the Big 12. Those numbers, the conference names, are likely to change pretty soon.

    Oh my god, we’re in Eastern Europe! If you didn’t watch Eurotrip, just go ahead and do it. It’s rather easy these days you know. After a packed week of internationals and one more week left in the qualifying tournament, we now have six nations to secure their spot at the 2012 Euro – Hosts Poland & Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands. While waiting for the other 10, it’s a good chance to check out the venues the teams and fans will visit next summer in eight different cities.

    The USA won more gold medals (12) and overall (25) in the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, with the Women bringing home 6 of those first place finishes. Russia were second with 9, also mostly thanks to the ladies.

    Jim Thome became the eighth player in MLB history to hit 600 home runs – knocking two out of the park to opposite field for the Twins in their 9-6 win over the Detroit Tigers. In honor of his achievement, the first to reach 600 since Alex Rodriguez did just over a year ago, here are all the players to reach and pass this milestone.
