Sweet Sixteen – Marquette vs Miami Predictions
In what should be the most physical game of the Sweet Sixteen round in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, Marquette will try and get past the stage for the first time since the days of Dwyane Wade over a decade ago, while Miami are hoping that the absence of their starting center won’t be too much of a crippling issue.

NCAA Tournament – All 16 Teams in the Sweet Sixteen
The Sweet Sixteen in the 2013 NCAA Tournament is made up of four Big Ten teams (Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State), three from the Big East (Louisville, Syracuse, Marquette), two from the Pac-12 (Oregon, Arizona), two from the ACC (Duke, Miami) and one from the Big 12 (Kansas), SEC (Florida), MEAC (Florida Gulf Coast), Atlantic 10 (La Salle) and MVC (Wichita State).

NCAA Tournament – Two Cinderellas in the Sweet Sixteen
We do have plenty of favorites, including Indiana and Kansas, not having too many problems in advancing to the Sweet Sixteen, but some favorites have fallen along the way, as Florida Gulf Coast continue their incredible run by knocking off San Diego State, while La Salle left out the SEC champions, Ole Miss, out of the competition as well, making everyone remember they used to be one of the best teams in the nation 60 years ago.

Kentucky Wildcats – A Nine Pro Players Team in 2014
Ranked recruiting classes by ESPN, Rivals and others don’t always pan out the way they should, but they give you a general idea of how good a freshman class is going to be. Kentucky, despite the very disappointing 2013 they’ve had, have landed another impressive one. With Julius Randle committing to the school for next season, they now have the Nos. 3, 5, 6, 7, 11 and 18 players in the ESPN 100.

NCAA Tournament – The First Number One Seed to Say Goodbye
If there was one number seed everyone was predicting to make an early exit, it had to be Gonzaga. So according to the script, the Bulldogs fell against ninth seed Wichita State, leaving Ohio State as the favorite in the West Regional. Other than that, upsets weren’t really a popular thing on day 3 of the tournament, as Louisville had no problem excreting their top seed status, while both Michigan and Michigan State enjoyed easy games in their Round of 32 games.

Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan, VCU & Arizona Make it Look Easy; Marquette & Gonzaga Not so Much
In a first night of NCAA tournament basketball, we had one real clear upset, but quite a few games that went down to the wire that probably shouldn’t have, including Gonzaga being pushed by Southern and Marquette barely getting by Davidson, thanks to a last-second layup by Vander Blue. On the other side of the equation, teams like Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan, VCU and Arizona, big favorites to begin with, didn’t really have any trouble with their opponents.

March Madness Coffee Break Planner
As we speak, the NCAA tournament is on its way, with 8 games already completed. By the time you read this, the lineup of Thursday games will probably be over, with at least one number 1 seed, Gonzaga, showing everyone how tough it’s going to be, barely beating Southern. More important than the actual score, is planning how to work watching the games on Friday into your schedule.

First Four – North Carolina A&T and Saint Mary’s Enter Big Dance
Instead of calling it a preliminary round, the NCAA prefers to give first round status to the first four games between teams that wouldn’t have made it in on the previous format. Still, that’s the way the world of College Basketball is moving, and North Carolina A&T, along with Saint Mary’s, made the most of the situation by winning the opening two games of the NCAA tournament.

Ohio State Buckeyes – Ugliness & Defense Win in the Big Ten
No one expected too many points from the Ohio State – Wisconsin Big Ten Tournament final, but still, not even reaching 100 points combined was a little bit surprising, as defense and terrible offense dictated the afternoon, with the Buckeyes winning, as usual, in the final of the conference tournament.
