How the First BCS Standings Are Going to Look Like
The first BCS Standings of the 2013 season are going to come out after week 8 is played, on October 20. Up until now, the guiding beacon of upsets and BCS projections has been the AP Poll, which even isn’t taken into account to compute the BCS final number. However, one thing that seems quite consistent, is the appearance of Alabama, Oregon and Clemson (in that order) as the top 3 teams in the nation.

2013 College Football Season – Week 7 Rankings
A little bit of shake up in the top 10, although the usual suspects of Alabama, Oregon and Clemson remain in the lead of the top 25, but LSU and Texas A&M make big moves forward, rising thanks to the fall of Georgia and Stanford, losing for the first time in the 2013 season. The […]

Oregon Ducks – Marcus Mariota, Nation’s Best Quarterback
The critics said Oregon still weren’t tested enough with a quality rival and some fourth quarter pressure in order to be considered as a national title contender. But Marcus Mariota raised his game when the time was right, and the Ducks remain the only undefeated team in the Pac-12 North, taking one huge step towards doing what they failed to complete last year.

Texas A&M Aggies – Johnny Manziel Always Finds a Way
Without the defense from last year, there seems to be even more pressure than ever before on Johnny Manziel to perform like a Heisman. Even when his passing game isn’t at its best and an early injury threatens to take him out, the Texas A&M hero always finds a way to deliver.

Texas Longhorns – Red River Rivalry Losers No More
All the pressure on Mack Brown combined with the criticism of Case McCoy not living up to his brother’s success and performances while he was playing for Texas didn’t matter, as the Longhorns ended a three game losing streak in the Red River Rivalry, re-opening their chances of actually ending up in a BCS Bowl game.

LSU Tigers – The Last Hope to Stop Alabama
In what should be the last tough game for LSU before their usual SEC West showdown with Alabama, that in recent years seems to be the deciding factor of national championships, the Tigers proved their defense is good enough to keep them from avoiding another loss this season, even if their most recent opposition was ranked but doesn’t play like one.

College Football – Undefeated Fall Before 1st BCS Standings
Three more undefeated teams lost for the first time in week 7, as Stanford, Michigan and Oklahoma see an end to their perfect run this season, leaving Louisville & Houston from the AAC, Clemson, Florida State and Miami in the ACC, Texas Tech & Baylor in the Big 12, Ohio State from the Big Ten, Northern Illinois in the MAC, Fresno State in the MWC, Oregon & UCLA in the Pac-12 and Missouri & Alabama in the SEC as the only teams in the 2013 yet to suffer defeat.

USC Trojans – Not Great, But Better Than Before
Without Lane Kiffin, everything looks brighter for USC, getting their first Pac-12 win of the season. It’s only Arizona, and there are still plenty of problems for the Trojans on their way out from the professional dark well they’ve fallen into, but it seems like this might be the start of the road back to the top of the conference and college football.

Louisville Cardinals – Bridgewater Needs Helps Sometimes
Having the best defense in the nation according to statistics doesn’t really hurt, enabling Louisville to remain undefeated and on pace to make a big problem in the BCS standings by the end of the season, and Teddy Bridgewater to play less than brilliantly for once.

AAC – Rutgers vs Louisville Predictions
In what should be the biggest challenge undefeated Louisville will be facing all season, Rutgers arrive to play at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, hoping that the close encounters of recent years in this rivalry will go their way this time.
