College Football: One Major & Illegal Upset, Favorites Struggle, Rankings to Shuffle
Week 2 of the college football season was supposed to simple: Only two real threats of upsetting ranked teams, and plenty of easy games for the rest. Teams like Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan made it look easy. Others, like Georgia and Clemson struggled with some very weak opponents, which could hurt them in the rankings. Others, like TCU and especially Oklahoma State, fell into the upset trap, which will probably move them from the polls, at least for one week.

Two ranked teams lost in week 2: Oklahoma State at home to Central Michigan on a huge official’s mistake, and TCH, losing in double overtime to Arkansas. The rest? Louisville’s Lamar Jackson, the Most Exciting Player in College Football This Season
It’s probably going to be difficult for Louisville to enter the top 10 in a week filled with mostly easy games for the ranked teams, but Lamar Jackson, the Cardinals quarterback involved in five more touchdown plays in their win over Syracuse, taking his tally up to 13 this season, is surely positioning himself as the favorite to win the Heisman trophy.

The week 1 AP Top 25 offers little change in top 5, with Alabama and Clemson retaining their 1-2 spots, while Florida State, Ohio State and Michigan make minor advancements instead of Oklahoma and LSU, having huge falls after their losses. Notre Dame vs Texas: Tyrone Swoopes, The Dive & Making History
It’s only week 1, but there’s a good chance that the 50-47 double overtime win by Texas over Notre Dame, clinched with a Tyrone Swoopes into the end zone, is going to end up as the craziest and possibly the best college football game of the 2016 season.

2016 College Football Season: Upsets, Blowouts & Rankings Effect
An interesting (and too spread out) opening weekend to the 2016 season in college football, with LSU stunned by unranked Wisconsin, Houston doing the game to Oklahoma, while USC suffered one of the worst losses in school history, by making the mistake and agreeing to meet Alabama on neutral ground. Obviously, rankings are going to shift due to some of these results, although it is just week 1.

College Football: Week 1 Scores & Standings
The 2016 season began before this Saturday, but the main course was finally served, and included four ranked teams (Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, USC) losing their season opener, Alabama crushing in a demonstration of what a number one team should be, and both Ohio State & Michigan breezing at home against week opposition. Clemson had to sweat to get their win, but even with an Auburn team having a rough time, their visit was never going to be easy.
