  • Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo Ready for Clasico

So how is Critiano Ronaldo doing? Just fine. First hat trick of the season? Check. Huge pay increase on the way? Check. Real Madrid eased through their match with Deportivo after falling behind early, and the team and their best player looks ready for the first league Clasico of the season, heading to Barcelona.

  • Juventus FC – Too Good for the Rest of the Serie A

It took only 19 minutes for Juventus to put away one of their alleged biggest rival to the title this season in Italy, eventually beating Roma 4-1 in another fantastic display at home, helping everyone (except a few folk at Napoli) reach the same conclusion – Juve are just too much for the Serie A this season.

  • Mustapha Durak With a Halfway Line Volley Goal

Mustapha Durak With a Halfway Line Volley Goal

A lot of great goals need terrible keepers, but Mustapha Durak scoring a volley from nearly the halfway line in Niort’s 4-2 win over Dijon in a French Ligue 2 match was a brilliant goal, regardless of the keeper’s position in the goal.

  • FC Barcelona – Cesc Fabregas Covers for Lionel Messi

In truth, if it wasn’t for the referee, Barcelona wouldn’t have won at Sevilla. Cesc Fabregas would have never scored two goals, David Villa couldn’t have scored the winning goal and most of the focus would have gone to Lionel Messi having his worse game of the season, left goalless for the second consecutive time.

  • Manchester United – Alex Ferguson Shifts Focus From Problems

Instead of talking about how bad Manchester United were in the first half, Ferguson just praised his lads for their second half in a 2-3 losing effort against Tottenham. Rather than focusing on the problems his team had encountering speed against a super Spurs counter attack, he talked about how Paul Scholes did a masterful job in the second half.

  • Liverpool FC – Luis Suarez is the Best Striker in the Premier League

Give Luis Suarez a fixture at Carrow Road every weekend, and he’ll break a few scoring records when it’s all said and done. For the second consecutive time, Suarez tormented Norwich with a sublime hat trick and simply put a perfect match, leading Liverpool to a 5-2 victory, their first of the season.

  • Arsenal FC – Blaming it all on Laurent Koscielny

Instead of trying to find positives from their game (not much), Arsene Wenger stabbed the problem right at the heart. Soft, sub-par defending. He didn’t mention any names, but it was obvious who he was referring to – Laurent Koscielny.

  • Chelsea FC – Fernando Torres Finds Scoring Touch

There were many things to be happy about for Chelsea after their 2-1 win, as slight underdogs, at the Emirates against Arsenal, but having Fernando Torres finally back on the score-sheet in another so-so performance from him and his team was the best news they could have asked for.

  • Martin Jiranek Scores Goal of the Season (So Far)

Martin Jiranek Scores Goal of the Season (So Far)

Czech centre back Martin Jiranek hasn’t played for the national team in quite some time, and at 33 his best is way behind him, but his absolute missile of a goal on Saturday against Kuban Krasnodar, which didn’t help him and Terek Grozny avoid a 2-1 loss, is probably the best we’ve seen this season so far.

  • Tottenham Beat Manchester United at Old Trafford For the First Time Since 1989

When you talk about statement wins, this is it. Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie came very close to scoring during 30 minutes of huge pressure on Brad Friedel’s goal, but in the end, Tottenham’s brilliant counter attacking and goals from Gareth Bale, Jan Vertonghen and Clint Dempsey were too much for Manchester United, beating the red devils at home 2-3.
