2014 World Cup – Germany & Ghana Give Us the Best Match so Far
From a Ghana team that simply outplayed many’s favorite to win the tournament, to Miroslav Klose saving Germany and becoming the joint all-time top scorer of the World Cup and Thomas Muller finishing the match on his back with blood covering his face, the 2-2 draw was the best match we’ve seen in this tournament so far.

2014 World Cup – Lionel Messi Makes Everything Possible
It was another rough match for Argentina as they reached injury time without scoring and with little hope of busting the Iranian bunker known as their 10 man defense. But Lionel Messi, in bad or good matches, only needs a certain amount of space and freedom to change everything. His goal might be something we’re used to seeing from him, but it doesn’t make it any less pretty or important.

2014 World Cup – Bosnia Going Home Because of the Referee
One terrible referee, not the first we’ve seen in the World Cup, has cost Bosnia a ticket to the round of 16. Instead, after losing to Nigeria with a goal that shouldn’t have been disallowed and another that should have been, they no longer have a chance to qualify from Group F, while Peter O’Leary, one of the worst officials in this tournament, won’t see anything harsh done to him. Referees are allowed to make mistakes at the expense of others.

Nigeria might join them thanks to a victory over Bosnia, coming through referee mistakes in their favor. Germany and Ghana presented the best match of the tournament which ended in a draw, as Miroslav Klose equaled Ronaldo at the top of the all-time scoring charts in the World Cup.

2014 World Cup – Day 9 Results & Table
While the most impressive result of the day came from Group E, where France beat Switzerland 5-2 to come very close to securing qualification into the next stage, the biggest impact was made by Costa Rica in Group D stunning Italy with a small 1-0 victory, making sure they’ll be in the round of 16. Ecuador kept their hope alive after beating Honduras 2-1.

Yohan Cabaye With the Biggest Miss of the World Cup
It’s always a dangerous thing declaring something as THE goal, foul or miss of the World Cup, but there’s no doubt that while France will be celebrating their 5-2 win over Switzerland, Yohan Cabaye will have a difficult time forgetting his incredible miss in front of a wide open net during the first half.

2014 World Cup – What Needs to Happen For England to Qualify
One more misstep, and England are out of the World Cup. With all the jokes at their expense, it does rarely happen to see them knocked out in the group stage but after losing to both Italy and Uruguay, England don’t just need to beat Costa Rica on the final match, but for other results to go their way before we even get into the whole goal difference situation.
