Who Needs Derrick Rose When You Have John Lucas III? (Heat vs Bulls)
Derrick Rose wasn’t even on the court, but the Chicago Bulls didn’t need him as it turns out, beating the Miami Heat, loaded with all their big three, with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combining for 71 points. In a 106-102 win, probable preview to yet another Eastern Conference Final clash, the Bulls were just too much as a team for a worn out side, falling behind in the race for home court advantage.

No Big NBA Trades on the Horizon as Deadline Approaches
Dwight Howard is saying all the right things, but the trade deadline isn’t here yet, and rumors are still flying around. Who to believe? It looks like despite everything that’s going on and all the big names thrown around, the Monta Ellis – Andrew Bogut deal will be the biggest this year, just because there aren’t enough good chips to be swapped between teams.

The Lakers Finally Get it – Give the Ball to Andrew Bynum
Andrew Bynum finished with a season high 37 points, combining for 71 as Kobe Bryant scored 34, leading the Los Angeles Lakers on back-to-back road wins (only second time this season) with a double overtime victory 116-111 over the Memphis Grizzlies, putting the Lakers at the third spot in the Western conference, at the expense of their hosts.

Orlando Magic Get the Best From Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard announced he’ll be staying with the Orlando Magic until the end of the season, after he had an huge 24 point, 25 rebound night, leading his team to a overtime 104-98 win over the Miami Heat, as LeBron James was having one of his weakest games this season.

Derrick Rose & Bulls Out to Win Title and Respect
Derrick Rose wasn’t too pleased despite the Chicago Bulls beating the New York Knicks 104-99, despite outplaying Jeremy Lin, like every other premier point guard has, despite finishing with 32 points and 7 assists and the team improving to an NBA best 35-9 record.

The Knicks Should Trade Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony shouldn’t have ever landed in New York, never be a part of that trade that sent Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov to the Denver Nuggets. This isn’t about how he meshes with Jeremy Lin, but more the fact that he has nothing to do with the style Mike D’Antoni is still trying to implement with the team for the fourth season.

Kobe Bryant Actually Shares the Ball With Other Lakers in Crunch Time
Kobe Bryant did the unthinkable. No, he didn’t ask for a trade to cancel out his no-trade clause, although it’s been a nice urban legend making it’s way around the NBA. Bryant actually gave up on being selfish and instead of taking the final shots in the Los Angeles Lakers 97-94 win over the Boston Celtics, he prefered dishing assists to Andrew Bynum.

Dwyane Wade & LeBron James Provide Perfect Clutch Combo
LeBron James finished with 27 points, and hit a game tying three pointer to send the game into overtime. Dwyane Wade hit an impossible shot at the end of overtime to give the Miami Heat a 93-91 win over the Indiana Pacers. Any questions about the Heat’s ability to handle tight games by all of their big three has been suspended until the postseason.

Gerald Green With the Best Dunk of the Season
Gerald Green never really impressed with anything but his athletics skills. Too raw of a talent to come out straight from highschool, being the 18th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. Now with the New Jersey Nets, Green, who made his return to the NBA this season, pulled off an incredible Alley-Oop dunk, better than anything else anyone has pulled off this season so far.

Ricky Rubio Ends Season and Playoff Hopes for Timberwolves
Ricky Rubio was in the middle of a fantastic year. The first season in the NBA for a young European player is never easy, but Rubio, playing professional basketball since he was 14, made the (2 years late) shift rather succesfuly, part of a basketball spring the Minnesota Timberwolves are going through. After 41 games, a torn ACL ended more than just Rubio’s rookie NBA season.
