Athletics World Championships – Day 4 Results, Gold & Medal Table
A big day for Kenya with two gold medals: One for David Rudisha, the king of the men’s 800 meters run, and a surprising one to Nicolas Bett in the men’s 400 meters hurdles. Greg Rutherford of Great Britain won the long jump competition, like he did in the Olympics, Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia won the women’s 1500 meters and Denia Caballero of Cuba took gold in the women’s discus throw.

A strong day for Kenya as Ezekiel Kemboi continues his never ending dominance in the men’s 3000 meters steeplechase while Vivian Cheruiyot took gold in the women’s 10,000 meters. Shawnacy Barber of Canada surprised many with gold in the men’s pole vault, Caterine Ibargüen of Colombia one a close contest in the women’s triple jump and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won another gold for Jamaica in the 100 meters race, this time for the women

Athletics World Championships – Day 2 Results, Gold & Medal Table
The main event of possibly the competition was won by Usain Bolt, taking the 100 meters race once again with a 9.79 seconds sprint, barely beating the controversial Justin Gatlin. Jessica Ennis-Hill won the Women’s heptathlon once again, Joe Kovacs of the United States took gold in the men’s shot put and Pawel Fajdek won the gold medal in the men’s hammer throw.

Usain Bolt Disqualified, Jamaica Still Take Gold via Yohan Blake
A Jamaican won the Men’s 100 meter race, but not the one everyone thought, expected to bring home gold. Usain Bolt, the fastest man alive, the fastest man in history, who set the current World record of 9.58 two years ago in the previous World Championships began too early, and fell victim to the one strike you’re out rule. Fellow countryman Yohan Blake, with 9.92, took home the gold while the field and crowd were still stunned by the turn of events.
