19 Best Memes of the North Carolina Tar Heels Beating the Gonzaga Bulldogs

After getting their hearts crushed last year in the National Championship game, North Carolina got back to the same stage and did the same thing to Gonzaga, resulting in plenty of memes that made fun of the Bulldogs, despite the difficulty in actually hating them. One of the ironic things about the Tar Heels winning […]

2017 NCAA Tournament: Final Four Teams

As we mentioned yesterday, the 2017 Final Four is about the contrast between one team (North Carolina) that’s in the blue blood club and among the most accomplished in college basketball history, and the three other teams; Oregon, Gonzaga and South Carolina.  Why the contrast? Well, while North Carolina became the first team to reach […]

Duke Over Gonzaga – Freshmen Keep Paving the Way

Everyone is against one-and-done’s at least on the outside, but no one minds when they take you into the Final Four, and Duke are riding the wave of freshman success, beating Gonzaga 66-52, led by Justise Winslow, Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones.

NCAA Tournament – The First Number One Seed to Say Goodbye

If there was one number seed everyone was predicting to make an early exit, it had to be Gonzaga. So according to the script, the Bulldogs fell against ninth seed Wichita State, leaving Ohio State as the favorite in the West Regional. Other than that, upsets weren’t really a popular thing on day 3 of the tournament, as Louisville had no problem excreting their top seed status, while both Michigan and Michigan State enjoyed easy games in their Round of 32 games.

Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan, VCU & Arizona Make it Look Easy; Marquette & Gonzaga Not so Much

In a first night of NCAA tournament basketball, we had one real clear upset, but quite a few games that went down to the wire that probably shouldn’t have, including Gonzaga being pushed by Southern and Marquette barely getting by Davidson, thanks to a last-second layup by Vander Blue. On the other side of the equation, teams like Louisville, Syracuse, Michigan, VCU and Arizona, big favorites to begin with, didn’t really have any trouble with their opponents.

  • 2013 NCAA Tournament – Day 1 Predictions

The real first day of the NCAA tournament kicks off with the second round and two number one seeds, Gonzaga and Louisville, beginning their way, hopefully to the Final Four in Atlanta, with games against Southern and North Carolina A&T respectively, hoping not to make 2013 the year in which a 16th seed finally pulled off the biggest upset of them all.

2013 NCAA Tournament – Automatic Qualifiers so Far

While it’s hard to imagine certain teams, like Indiana and Duke, not making it in to the NCAA Tournament even if they fail miserably in their conference tournament, for others, from the smaller conferences, winning their conference tournament might be the only way to make it into the big dance.

The 2012-2013 season isn’t over yet for Gonzaga, but there’s no reason it’s quite special, winning the WCC regular season title, the tournament title and heading into the NCAA tournament as a #1 seed, with a #1 AP Poll ranking.
