Another dominant day for the United States with four gold medals, including winning both men’s and women’s 4×100 medley relays, as Michael Phelps picked up gold medal number 23 of his career, the final one it seems. Mo Farah won one of three gold medals for Great Britain by repeating as 10,000 meters champion, and Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson positioned herself as the fastest woman in the world with a gold medal in the women’s 100 meters.

As with all these Olympics, the Americans come out on top, mostly thanks to the women and Allyson Felix, who took home three gold medals including her first individual gold. Usain Bolt was the big star for the men, winning three gold medals while setting a new Olympic record in the 100 meters and a new world record in the 4×100.

London 2012 – Gold Medal Winners on Day 15 of the Olympics
Day 15 of the 2012 Olympic games ended on the track, fittingly, with Usain Bolt and the Jamaican 4×100 relay team, beating the United States and setting a new world record with 36.84. The American’s did take gold in the 4×400 relay while Mo Farah completed a double of his own, becoming the 7th man to win the 5000 and 10,000 meters races.

Gold Medal Winners on Day 8 of the 2012 Summer Olympics
A huge day 8 that wrapped up the business in the pool, with the Americans taking gold in both relay races and Michael Phelps winning his 18th and final Olympic gold medal, while in the Athletics stadium Great Britain dominated, just like in Cycling and Rowing, with golds in Men’s long jump, Women’s heptathlon and Men’s 10,000 meters, whiel Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamiaca retained her Olympic title in the Women’s 100 meters.
