It was only the second time Adrien Broner fought in a Lightweight bout, but already it seems this division and this title (WBC) are too small for his abilities and aspirations. Gavin Rees, a tested journeyman without much left in the tank, was simply way out of his league against the champion, and it doesn’t seem to feel anyone in the division is.

Erik Morales wasn’t even fighting for a title. Weighing two pounds above the allowed 140, the WBC Light Welterweight title was only for Danny Garcia to win. The 24 year old, winning his 23 fight (0 losses) since beginning his boxing career in 2007, just had more in the tank to withstand the aging legend, who must be contemplatin retirmenetn once again.

Dawson – Hopkins Rematch Unlikley
For one obvious reason, being the fact that Chad Dawson’s Saturday night win by a super controversial TKO over Bernard Hopkins, winning the WBC Light Heavyweight title, there definitely should be a rematch between the two. We, the fans, and the sports integrity itself deserves a clear cut decision.

Not much of a fight to talk of, with the clock showing two minutes in the second round when Chad Dawson pulled a move out of the WWE, body slamming Bernard Hopkins, dislocating the 46 year old’s shoulder and by bizarre decision winning by a TKO, ending up with the WBC and Ring Light Heavyweight title belts.
