  • Rafael Nadal Keeps Dropping Out of Tournaments

Now this is getting worrying. After losing to Lukas Rosol in the second round of the Wimbledon tournament, Nadal announced he won’t be playing in the Olympic games, in order to rest and take care of his bad knees. Then came the announcement of dropping out from the Canada Masters, and now comes the announcement of dropping out from Cincinnati. How bad is it, really?

  • FC Barcelona – Alex Song Coming or Not?

Again with Barcelona, again another Arsenal player. This time no one with an actual connection to the club. “Just” Alex Song, the 24 year old Cameroonian midfielder, who’s mostly been talked about by several Barca players, which means that despite all of Tito Vilanova’s denials, they’re probably planning to make a bid for the player.

  • Dwight Howard – The Lakers Always Get Their Man

It was just a question of time, I guess. Dwight Howard showing up in LA started all the rumors, but eventually, the became true. A four team trade also involving the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers finally moved the best center in the NBA from the Orlando Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

  • Manchester United – Still Chasing Robin van Persie

It’s been relatively quiet on the Van Persie front in recent days. He never announced anything, but the Dutch striker seems to be happy with the way things are going in Arsenal and their signings (and future ones) this summer, which hasn’t stopped Manchester United from trying to sign the Premier League’s top scorer last season.

  • Liverpool FC – Luis Suarez Looks Happy & Hungry

It was a debut night at Anfield for more than just the 2012-2013 Liverpool team, as Fabio Borini and Brendan Rodgers got their first taste of their new fans, happily making it through the second leg with Gomel with flying colors, beating the Belarussians 3-0, scoring courtesy of Fabio Borini, Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson.

  • Gold Medal Winners on Day 13 of the 2012 Summer Olympics

Another fantastic all-around day for the USA with Athletics, Water Polo and football gold, but with Usain Bolt on the track, everything else diminishes, even David Rudisha’s fantastic new world record in the 800 meters race. Bolt completed his second 100-200 double, finishing with 19.32 as he eased off during the final stretch.

  • Miami Heat – Even Better than the Championship Season?

While LeBron James is clocking impossible triple doubles in the Olympic games (only second time it’s ever happened), the Miami Heat are slowly but surely getting ready for the new NBA Season, hopefully a third NBA final and in general a much better title defense campaign than the one from six years ago.

  • Neymar – How Much is he Worth Now?

Nothing has really changed during the Olympic games. Neymar was an excellent player before them and regardless of whether Brazil win the Olympic gold by beating Mexico in the final or finish with silver, the young striker is the biggest name in Brazilian football at the moment and its most sought after talent.

  • Liverpool FC – No More Anfield Stadium?

No, Liverpool aren’t planning on making the move to new Anfield at Stanley Park in the near future. American ownership means American thinking, and an excellent way to raise money is selling the naming rights to your stadium, no matter how legendary, old and symbolic it may be.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo Back to Scoring Goals (Real Madrid vs AC Milan)

The 5-1 scoreline doesn’t lie. Except for a few moments in the first half, the new and downgraded AC Milan hardly had any touches throughout the match, while Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and Angel Di Maria delivered a beautiful goal to open the match, with a world of difference between the two teams in the New York friendly.
