Elite Eight – Michigan vs Florida Predictions

These two teams were expected to reach this stage in the NCAA tournament – Michigan held the number one spot in the nation earlier this season before some problems in winning tough road games appeared. Florida have one of the best defenses in the nation, but their inability to win close games makes you wonder of how just how good they really are.

Los Angeles Lakers – Kobe Bryant Breaks Records While Being Awful

The most important thing? The Los Angeles Lakers won another game, on the road of all places, to stay in the race for the final ticket the NBA has to offer in the Western playoffs. Things of less importance all have to do with Kobe Bryant, not resting a single minute, moving up the NBA’s all time scoring list, shooting terribly from the field while posting assist numbers to make us think he’s a “team” player.

Utah Jazz – Randy Foye is Next to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

All of a sudden, the Utah Jazz have guards, some would even call them point guards, that can score points and make a difference. Randy Foye had his best game of the season with a rare shooting night, while Mo Williams continued his late-season heroics, as the two are suddenly pushing a team that looked on the verge of an embarrassing collapse back into the NBA postseason picture.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Kevin Durant Makes Up for an Ugly Russell Westbrook Triple Double

Even when he posts a triple double, Russell Westbrook has to do it with some awful shooting numbers, showing just how much more work has to be done in regards of taming his offensive tendencies. The exact opposite might be said of Kevin Durant, the perfect scoring machine, about to win the scoring title despite not being the player taking the most shots on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Houston Rockets – Jeremy Lin Kind of Basketball Without James Harden

While a lot of the success and ascent into a playoff team this season has to do with James Harden joining the Houston Rockets, the kind of basketball he forces the team to play doesn’t always benefit them and suit the rest of the players. This time, without him on the floor, Jeremy Lin didn’t break out into some memorable performance, but he was the anchor of a different, team-oriented game that might be more suitable for the Rockets’ needs.

Dallas Mavericks – Dirk Nowitzki Does Too Much A Little Too Late

It’s gotten to be a thing of norm for the Dallas Mavericks to be rescued into victory by some late game heroics not to mention clutch shooting, from Dirk Nowitzki. In the 2013 version of him and them, it doesn’t seem to be enough to keep their NBA playoff streak alive.

2013 NFL Free Agency – Brent Grimes & Kevin Kolb Find New Homes

It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a bad year or are carrying an injury or two. There just isn’t enough quality in the NFL to pass on guys like Kevin Kolb, who signed with the Buffalo Bills, or Brent Grimes, who got picked up by the Miami Dolphins, despite the warning signs flashing all over them.

NFL Rumors – Arizona Cardinals Waiting for Oakland Raiders to Release Carson Palmer

It’s funny how the NFL quarterback situation is like a row of Domino stones, waiting for one to fall and start a chain reaction. The Oakland Raiders are looking for the guy (Matt Flynn) that will allow them to cut Carson Palmer, which will give the Arizona Cardinals the chance to sign the former number one pick.

NFL Rumors – Seattle Seahawks Interested in Colt McCoy

No one is going to make Colt McCoy their starting quarterback. Not the Cleveland Browns, and not any other team in the NFL. But as windows open and close around the league, the opportunity to make him a quality backup might seem very intriguing to the Seattle Seahawks, finding themselves in need of one very soon.

NCAA Tournament – Syracuse & Wichita State Make it Into the Final Four

The first half of the Elite Eight weekend began with one very surprising result, as Wichita State didn’t just play better defense than the Buckeyes from Ohio State, but actually beat them to make their first final four in nearly 50 years. In the Big Easy derby between Syracuse and Marquette we saw a basketball game that showed a lot of the problems of the sport, while the Orange were the main benefactors of the ugliness.
