The fourth and final day of the round of 16 is upon us, as Argentina with Lionel Messi will take on Switzerland while the slightly disappointing Belgium side will be facing the United States later on to wrap up the first knockout stage of the 2014 World Cup.

Match Highlights – Germany vs Algeria

It was a lot more difficult than it should have been, but after extra time Germany managed to beat Algeria and keep their impressive quarterfinals qualification record with a 2-1 win, scoring their two goals in extra time after a goalless draw through the first 90 minutes, while the last African team in the tournament scored their goal in garbage time.

Match Highlights – France vs Nigeria

Not a great match from France who were the most impressive team in this World Cup, but their superiority through the second half of the match, first coming with a Paul Pogba header after a Vincent Enyeama mistake and as Nigeria sent more players forward, a counter attack with a cross that bounced off of Joseph Yobo finished the encounter with a 2-0 French win, moving on to the quarterfinals.
