They need a penalty shootout to get ir done, as Theofanis Gekas misses the fourth one for Greece followed by Michael Umana hitting the clincher, as the first 120 minutes ended in a 1-1 draw: Costa Rica led thanks to a Bryan Ruiz goal, Greece equalized in the 91st minute through Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

A bad match from the Netherlands for most of it didn’t matter in the end, as a brilliant goal from Gio Dos Santos wasn’t enough to hold onto the win, as a powerful equalizer from Wesley Sneijder and eventually an injury time penalty from Klaas Jan Huntelaar put the Dutch in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win.
