A sport, yes, a sport that originates from the early 17th century and has survived till this day with on/off periods. Pretty simple – both contestants hold on to their opponents by the shoulders or upper arms and just kick the other guy’s shins until he drops. Each drop gives the standing man a point, and the winner is the man who gets two points first.
The main even of this… sport… is the Cotswold games, a multi-sport even and tradition that began in 1612, disappeared, revived in the 19th century and revived again in 1963 and has been going on since. The games take place in Dover Hill, South West England and are attended by thousands of people who watch, take part, drink and dance till the next morning.
